1. Polina YAKOBS & Valentin KUZEV - Cabaret
They are that "kid team" I've mentioned in CD review. I was told they are something like 11/12, but looked hardly older than 10. I don't know who get the idea of making FD for Cabaret soundtrack for them, it was rather bizzare thing, make me wonder if the choreographer was aware what Mein Herr song is about for example. And how many people in the audience know it too. Whatever, lyrics aside, the dance was made to be cute and vivid, and so it was, they have done several interesting lift and represented the music very well, the final part set to Money, Money was really funny.

2. Elena SHAMILIAN & Maxim KISILEV
They skated to the rock'n'roll of a kind. Not very fast r'n'r, but still they were even slower than music on some steps and finished behind the music. However the dance was not bad, there are some interesting choreography.

3. Maria KUROCHKINA & Anton GRYAZNOV
Various gypsies tunes. They were not very fast, and look unsecure sometimes. However they have done several interesting step sequences, for example they had one I would describe as straighforward zigzag, they were skating SBS doing mirror steps and exchaning places. I have never seen it before and thought it was a great idea, more polished team could really make such a pattern sparkle.

4. Irina BESPALOVA & Sergey MALYSHEV
A tango. It was very decent attempt to represent the character of the dance, but unfortunately they were mainly relying on "seductive" lifts and tango-esque handholds to create the mood, while the steps, in my opinion lack the sophistication of the rhytme. But the moves were really in time with music.

5. Anastasia SADOKHINA & Andrey FEDOROV
Another tango-esque tune. I liked them less than previous team, but probably I was too irritated by her appearance, I just can't stand little girls wearing too much make up. I know they need a make up otherwise they will look pale, but this time it was really exessive. I can be more or less Ok on Anjelika Krylova (though she looked way better in real life), but on the girl looking 11... Her manners were a bit too "adult" too, she made a lots of facial expressions and keep her mounth open while smiling, like Anna Seminovich for example. The dance was nice, though. They have recieved lots of toys and flowers from friends and relatives, I guess.

6. Natalia MIKHAILOVA & Arkady SERGEEV
Rock'n'roll. Better than the first one, rather fast and secure. They both looked very young, something around 12 or so. Nice dance. The girl later helped officials at the award ceremony.

Arabian dance. I've already seen it once at Seniors and this time I liked it more, but they not happy with the performance. The dance was interesting and contained inventive lifts and change of handholds. I liked them.

This team was at Seniors too. Back then I was so much irritated with their music choice (techno) what I hardly noticed the dance. This time I was more ready to hear the "music", so I could concentrate on the things they were making on the ice. And I liked them, good dance. I was cute on "space" team probably for most of their moves were bizzare. The dance was vivid and fast.

Skated in black and neon green to Skokian/La vie en rose/and something jazzy again. Interesing lifts and good speed, but nothing really outstanding.

10. Elena ROMANOVSKAYA & Alexander GRACHIN - Lord of Dance
Or Feet of Flames. I don't know. They have chosen "mostly folk" parts (as opposed to mostly "steps" parts other used) so they dance was set up as folk, not as steps one. In fact they had only one sequence of "Irish" steps near the end of the program. I liked them, and i was surprised to see them marked lower than previous team.

11. Anna MOTOVILOVA & Sergey MEEROVSKY - Malaguena
I could be wrong about their names, I have copied them from the results board, but my handwriting leave much to be desired. But I loved their dance! Well, I'm not entirely objective, I must confess: despite being overused in skating I still love Malaguena and Carmen, and the sounds of music are enough to make my blood run faster, but this time I was really thrilled. They moves simply blend with music. I'm not a dance expert, so I don't know how difficult this dance was, or how many rules violations were in it, but I know what it was probably the best flamenko I've seen, in recent years (I don't remember K&O's one). They reminded me of Lang & Chernyshev a little, Anna is very flexible, and "balletic". They also did several hydroblading tricks. Great performance. And lots of applauses after it. Too bad I can't get it on tape...

Their dance is hard to describe. It was dolls, clowns, Harlequine? I don't know. But it was interesting. They were very popular with public, and this popularity was well deserved, their dance was the one you can't take your eyes off. You just follow and follow them from one moves to another. Very good dance and very promising team. She get a kind of talent, her smile is reaching everyone in the audience.

A kind of tango. They were with Chaikovskaya at this event, probably she is their coach... Good dance and interpretation of the music, they had represented the character very well.

Speaking of similarities, this team remind me of A&P. Their program was dramatical and fast. The music begun with sounds of nature then drums, and the vocal part was I guess the one L&A are using for their dance. Impressive. Lots of different handholds, interesting transitions. Good.
